POWER ANALYZER- DESIGNED BY MANUFACTURERS, FOR MANUFACTURERS

The MachineSense Power Analyzer product is the industry’s first 24/7 electrical analysis tool designed by and for manufacturers. Designed to be affordable. Designed to be easy to install. Designed with easy to understand analytics so you can not only record the data, but understand what it all means which allows you to begin to do something about the underlying problems affecting your utility costs and machine/component productivity.

The Power Analyzer technology measures and analyzes voltage and current on all three phases and provides powerful data on power factor, active power and energy, reactive power and energy, voltage and current total harmonic distortion, neutral imbalance as well as sag/swell event detection. Unlike other power instrumentation that takes manual or limited time recordings, MachineSense is permanently connected to a machine or internal power distribution line.

The clip-on toroid sensors are easily attached to the input power line and constantly monitor the supply line. Sensor data is then transmitted by the on-board datahub via WiFi or Ethernet to a local router and to the MachineSense analytics program.

Our proprietary analytics algorithm tracks and compares the collected data against a baseline to determine the overall component health trending of components such as motors, stators and heating elements. Phase imbalance and faulty grounding can be detected and reported as well as current and historic electrical power consumption.  For the first time, easy-to-read dashboards tell you exactly what’s going on with your power quality or utilization, providing an easy to understand diagnosis of symptoms that will enable you to implement the cures.

The MachineSense Power Analyzer includes access to our exclusive patent-pending Crystalball software which enables users to set up alarms so text and emails will be sent to selected recipients. Six months of historic data with trend lines clearly shows equipment performance, as well as serving as a dashboard for all monitored assets, by department or selected area.

Information is power. With MachineSense you will have the type of electrical information you need to gain total control of your plant while maximizing time and reducing costs.

Every manufacturer has electrical issues. These issues can, and will, affect productivity, machine performance and electrical costs. As in the past, most plant engineers, plant managers and maintenance managers tend to focus on mechanical issues often because they simply don’t understand electrical issues, or how to diagnose them. When machines break down the typical response is to have expensive instrumentation and highly paid consultants come to the plant to figure out what’s going on. As a result, most plant managers just avoid diagnosing the real problem and instead just swap out mechanical or electrical components or motors that have failed, or reset PLC units that have dumped their programs. In other words, they implement the easy and expensive quick fix, but not the right solution.
Studies show that plant management teams don’t always understand electrical issues because most of them are not versed on internal electrical distribution issues including areas such as power factor, harmonics, swells, and sags . This can easily lead to inefficient factory productivity and performance because, quite honestly, there is a knowledge gap on how to effectively measure, understand and act upon electrical factors in the plant.
MachineSense, and our proprietary Power Analyzer technology, is designed to capture, interpret and diagnose relevant data obtained from electrical components and internal power distribution. MachineSense products are specifically designed to help diagnose everyday electrical issues and present them factually in a way that can be easily understood by plant management regardless of any electrical engineering experience on electrical components and related issues.
